Quaking Aspen : What is it used for?
The timber of the quaking aspen does not splinter, making it excellent for making playgrounds and sauna benches. Their wood is also used for pulp, lumber, shingles, boxes, furniture, matchsticks, and tongue depressors. Pellets made out of the tree can be used for fuel. Quaking aspen wood is greatly used in the East, but less so in the West.
Because of their resistance to fire, quaking aspens are often used as firebreaks.
A nutritious animal feed called Muka can be made from the leaves of the trees. This type of feed is given to milking cows, pigs, poultry, and cattle as a supplement. It contains a lot of protein, cellulose, and minerals which are good for the animals.
