English Oak : On UVM Campus
There are several English oaks on the UVM campus. One of the most interesting is on the far side of Ira Allen Chapel, near the grave of John Dewey. This tree very distinctly in the fastigiata form, with all of its branches tangled around each other and growing upright instead of spreading out. The tree is very large and very old. Even without its leaves, this English oak is an awe inspiring tree and is worth visiting at any time of the year.
