Personal and Professional Life : Zonta Club (1930)
CNB was the president of the Zonta Club and led the club's events. This is the program of events for the charter night dinner of the Burlington Zonta Club and includes the night's speakers, songs, and song lyrics. Also included is a seating plan for the dinner and a list of the club's members including information such as occupation, phone number, etc. Clubs and societies such as the Zonta Club were an important resource for women during this time period because they provided support and encouraged women to branch out into careers previously dominated by men. Most women did not assert their independence and ability to work in new fields, however, until World War II.
This is a copy of the mayor's address given at the Zonta Club dinner. He praises both the successes of women after gaining suffrage and the newly formed Zonta Club.
