Around the World With FPK : Overview
A large portion of Frances Parkinson Keyes’s life was dedicated to traveling and learning throughout the world. While Frances was living in Washington, she began traveling for Good Housekeeping in 1920 where she wrote feature articles about her experiences abroad. She would spend the next decade traveling to many diverse locations, including Germany, Puerto Rico, and Bahgdad.
In 1932, Frances received a letter requesting writers, journalists, and educators to travel to Germany in hopes of forming stronger ties between the United States and Germany. This letter would mark he beginning of Frances's involvement with the relations between Germany and the United States at a time of great political distress up to the start of WWII.
