FPK to Peter Keyes, April 30, 1933

Description

Handwritten nine page letter from FPK to her son Peter detailing the difficulty of middle son John to "establish himself in a career" during the depression; the likely bankruptcy of her publisher, Liveright Inc., and the concerns over her manuscript for Senator Marlowe's Daughter; discusses offers of other publishing houses, but maintains loyalty to Julian Messner with whom she worked directly at Liveright, "Mr. J.M. has been so good to me that I feel I can not desert him as long as I feel as there is a chance that he may go on publishing books,” Keyes writes.
