Description
In Japan, tea ceremonies have been prominent since 805 C.E. when Buddhist Priest Dengy planted the first tea garden. This kettle is made out of silver, which is believed to purify and cleanse the water used to make tea for the ceremonies. Ch-no-yu, a ceremony surrounding the practice of boiling water for tea is still practiced today and is based on four Zen principles: wa (harmony), kae (respect), sae purity) and jibuo (tranquility).
