Beyond Eating : Andy Warhol Black-and-White Print
One of thousands of black-and-white photographs that Andy Warhol took between 1976 and1987, this high contrast silver-gelatin print depicts an after-meal scene, with leftover food and dirty dishes strewn haphazardly over a printed tablecloth. His snapshots during this time depicted common settings or objects, making up a collection that Warhol used to obsessively record the time in which he lived. This table setting print is one of many food or meal related photos Warhol took; he went out to dinner almost daily, and in his photographs often returned to the subject of before, during, or after the meal.
