Description
This bird’s beak can be opened by squeezing the tail; the beak holds fabric, allowing the use of both hands for sewing. A small pin cushion would be glued onto the bird’s back. This sewing bird was used by Mary Louisa Sawyer of Burlington in the 1850s.
