Dear Mrs. Keyes,
Within the past two weeks I have received two express packages from "The Farm" and I can't tell you how delighted I am with their contents. I love the solver pieces of your mother's and am equally delighted with the liners, and can hardly wait until Henry and I can use them. Mother and others who have seen these things think they are perfectly beautiful. As I wrote Mrs. Taisey, the silver strawberry dish and spoon are of the same design as some silver serving forks and spoons which were in Mother's family and which she has given us. I love old family things and think Henry and I are very lucky to be given such lovely pieces.
It is just five weeks from today that we will be married and I am getting very excited about it. I have missed Henry and will be so glad when we are together again.
I shall be glad to receive any additional in changes which you wish to make to the wedding list we have. We have the envelopes to the invitations and are starting to address then, as they will have to be out within a couple of weeks. Henry has marked the names on your list of those whom you and the family know well and they shall have reception cards as well as invitations.
The people at the shop which is rendering my wedding dress and is going to fix my veil said that the lace veils(?) and the court train which you have are probably too elaborate and formal for me to use and wouldn't combine well with what I have. But I certainly do appreciate your offering them to me. I don't think I am going to be able to use them even the smaller lace pieces which I have- except possibly a little around the neck of my dress. Lace won't combine very well with my veil. I might be able to use the orange blossoms, or some of them, which you suggested. They sound very pretty. If you have them handy and wouldn't mind sending them on, I would like to see if I couldn't use them.
Tomorrow I am going to give the Denver papers our wedding date, as they have been hounding me for it. So you can feel free to give such information as you wish to the Washington society editors.
Yesterday Mrs. Thomas Noodrow (?), a friend of Mother's who is active in the D.A.R. in Denver, told me how interested she was in what you are doing with the D.A.R. Magazine and what wonderful improvement it is. She said she had discontinued her subscription, but was now receiving it.
I am glad to hear you are getting some speaking engagements in the West and hope everything will work out as you wish it.
Affectionately,
Betty
