Dear Mrs. Keyes:
I have sent copies of the August Granite Monthly to Mrs. Fabyan and Mrs. Brock, as per your letter, and have preserved the list of those whom the September number is to go. It is a pleasure to give to the nurse fund whatever the G.M. share of the sales would be. Under another cover I am sending the few copies of the August number which I have left on hand. There will be more when the newsdealers make their returns, so please remind me about the middle of next month as to your needs on this line.
Sincere congratulations on your placing of another novel. I call myself a fairly busy man, but it passes my comprehension how you can accomplish all that you do. You must make every minute count.
The Rumford Press does not publish books on its own account, but makes them for the publishing firms. Just now it is doing much on that line for the Atlantic Monthly Press. Your book of New Hampshire history would be very interesting and it would seem as though some publisher who makes a specialty of that sort of thing and knows how to get at probable patrons would be glad to undertake it.
Mr. Gallagher will look up the issue of the Patriot containing the paragraph about your Good Housekeeping article and send you some copies if any remain in his files. The paper shortage forces him, like all of us, to cut his editions close.
Kindly remember me to H.W.K., Sr. and Jr. The Senator must be glad that he is out of the primary turmoil this year.
