Dear Mrs. Keyes:
I was about to write you today when your letter of the 15th. With the accompanying balance of the manuscript of “Lady Blanche's Farm” came to hand. I have read and noted your excellent letter to Dorothy Fisher and all of the clippings and letters that you left with me last Saturday and that accompanied your letter. I am returning them to you.
I am sending six copies of “Silver Seas and Golden Cities” for propaganda purposes. I am awaiting the receipt of “The career of David Noble”[and will take pleasure in reading it, and I am taking home to read the few poems that you have sent me. I don’t like to start to read poems and then have the telephone buzz, and that’s the way it is.
It was certainly a great pleasure to see you last week. My fond greetings to you.
Yours, Julian Messner

P.S. Miss Goldman has left our employ, but I have sent her the pair of Porto Rican slippers, and I have given Miss Pype, our telephone operator, the purse with which she was delighted.
